Yesterday, Saturday, October 11, 2008, Loren Kottner went on his journey home. I am forever grateful that I have had the chance to get to know him, and to love him. To me, he was a dad that I always desired. We would always have time to talk and share about memories, jokes, football, religion, and politics. Though we may have not agreed on everything, the love and respect for each other was always there. There were times when he would share with me some decisions that he needed to make and invited me to sit down with him and listen to what was on his mind and heart, then would allow me to share my thoughts.
Thank you Dad for the way you touched my life and my heart. I love you, always!

You left too early, Loren.
And Jeff, I know I speak for the many folks whose lives your dad touched both personally and professionally. He will never be forgotten.
Spike Berry, living in las Vegas, and I, living in Honolulu, both met your dad and mom when we worked for them at Red Carpet Travel/Cruise World International in the late 80's. Your dad was responsible for us getting into the travel business ourselves--Spike with cruises in the Las
Vegas area and me with Northwest Airlines here. He is already deeply missed. Will your family put out a final Clarion, your dad's yearly missive to his legion of admirers?
Our condolences go out to Moki, her family, and you, Peggy, and your families.
Sincerely,
Gary Meyers
